Sacramento is the capitol of California, you can take a tour of Sacramentos capitol building & museum. After you finish tours of the building itself you can take a stroll in Capitol Park. People appreciate the beautiful lawns of the park and the memorials there are to commemorate important events such as: Civil War Memorial Grove, the California Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and California Veterans Memorial.
With Fair Oaks being right along the American River, rafting tends to be a very popular activity during the summer months. The river access point for the best place to start at for a day of rafting is actually in Fair Oaks. About half way through your float you will come across the San Juan rapids which is an adrenaline pumping part of anyones rafting trip. These floats lat anywhere from 3-4 hours, they are a nice way to spend your summer days!
The town center of Fair Oaks is called Old Fair Oaks Village. The Veterans Memorial Amphitheater is located in this part of town. Events that take place here include the Fair Oaks Theater Festival, Concerts in the Park, and the annual Fair Oaks Chicken Festival each September.
